Nonetheless, one of the things we are grateful that the pandemic has offered us over the past year is the ability to stay home and reinvest in our home design and personal spaces. Gone are the days of designated, closed-off dining rooms and separate living and family rooms. Multipurpose is all the rage and while we have been doing a lot of work from home over the past year, these multifaceted spaces have really served their purposes. One of our favourite design trends that accompanied this movement was the encouragement to float your furniture. Don’t worry about having every couch and chair against a wall anymore. Instead, break up and utilize your space using your furniture! Add a desk to your living area or a crafting corner to your dining space.
